Preserving What You Love

Just as we love our families, and make plans to support them when we are gone, many of us have decided to make similar plans to support and preserve those places and things that we most love. A group of us has established The BIPS Legacy Society to do just that, to ensure the health and beauty of the land and water, and the historic structures, of our barrier islands. There is no better way to preserve and perpetuate the pristine nature of our precious barrier islands.

What began thirty-two years ago as a project to create and operate the historic Port Boca Grande Lighthouse & Museum has become a wide-ranging effort to literally save two iconic lighthouses and a historically important chapel, support four state parks, operate an award-winning museum, coordinate two “Friends” groups and sustain an active environmental education program. This work requires resources; we must build a permanent endowment to ensure the sustainability of these important efforts.

There are opportunities to name and endow important elements of our work, ranging from pavers to trails to our lighthouses themselves. Is there a better way to be remembered forever?

Joining the BIPS Legacy Society gives us the opportunity to realize our personal goals, and honor someone we love, through estate planning. Making a gift to BIPS through our wills, trusts, insurance policies or named asset, such as securities, is a simple and tax-wise way to support our mission. We invite you to become a part of this growing legacy program.
